Detective Dan was a happy man who drove around in his detective van. He snooped around and caught criminals who murdered people along with other things that a detective does like buying milk and cookies. One day he had to track down a criminal called the Carrot, who surprisingly looked like a turnip but he did have orange hands. The Carrot was an evil mastermind who took out all the other detectives like: Detective Snoopy, Detective Happiness and Detective Death (Detective Happiness’ alter ego.)

Detective Professor Peach walked over to the davenport and sat on it quite suddenly. “Mr. Watts,” he spoke as he took another breath from his pipe. “It seems that the dead man, Mr. Crossbury, was murdered last night, by an unknown man.”
“Surely not, professor!” Mr. Watts replied. “A murder last week, a murder today, when will this rampage end?” He sat on the chair in the centre of the room and held his head in his hands. “If the murderer is not caught soon, we may have to shut down the town fair.” Penny <3
My crew behind me, I kicked the door down, anger in my heart. I know, rule number one, don’t get involved with mysteries to do with close friends or family but this was getting just a bit too personal. But no matter how personal it had become, nothing prepared me and my team for the shocking spectacle that met our eyes.

Mr. McCoy sat in his study and stared around him. His eyes rested on the newspaper clippings, neatly framed on the wall. ‘McCoy saves the day again', ‘PI McCoy finds cleaner guilty'. On and on it went, covering the entire space. His life's work in black and white. He waited idly for a call to come requesting his services once again. He wondered what it would be this time. Murder? He hoped not. He didn't know if he could look at another bloody corpse or interview another weeping wife. The depression of the job was starting to eat away at him. Soon there would be nothing left.

Blood covers the floor, his tailored suit, ripped. His lifeless body is sprawled on the cold slates, face is dark, empty. His wife sits in the chair, shaking. Knife in one hand, and her blood stained wedding ring clenched in the other.

The darkened hallway provided a scene of obscurity. The forensic investigators were taking every conceivable bit of evidence to try and identify the murderer. Senior Sgt. James Brown the investigator walked into the room and stared at the man’s body lying on the floor, he had lost a lot of blood, it was everywhere. The floor was shining in the dim light, the curtains where drawn back and the bitter breeze blew into the room. Sgt. Brown knelt down at the body and inspected the wounds; the cut was very deep and appeared to have been inflicted by some sort of knife.

“Well well Watson” said Sherlock Holmes, as he bent down to examine the evidence, a half eaten piece of cheese. “We have an unusual mystery on our hands”. Watson continued to look puzzled.
“What is the situation, Mister Holmes?” asked Watson. Sherlock Holmes thought for a minute. Could Watson be trusted with the facts? Sherlock’s eyes moved over the evidence again. He looked back up at Watson, whose red afro was shaking with anxiety. “Ok then,” said Sherlock “I will tell you. My lunch has been stolen”

I felt the cool water lapping gently against my feet. So many clues led straight to this unfamiliar spot. It would have been the last place I’d have thought to look, but it was worth a try. I waded out further into the water. Thinking back to the first letter I received that caught my attention.. It was an obvious clue, something I couldn’t just ignore.
